- Paratypes: MNHN 2014-0158 (1, 0), 2014-0159 (0, 1); USNM 435840 (8), 378364, 1(20).
Type locality: mouth of River Eke, upper end of Haurei Bay, Rapa, French Polynesia.
Etymology: The species is named for the island of Rapa in French Polynesia.
