- Holotype: BPBM, ♂, 14.X.1958, leg. J.L. Gressitt.
- Etymology: This epithet is a compound of the latin adjective tumidus,-a,-um (swollen) and the latin noun rostrum (snout) and refers to the apically swollen rostrum.
