- Holotype: UMMZ 125524, adult ♂, skin and skull with body in alcohol, collected by P. Myers on 29 July 1977.
- Type locality: “419km by road NW Villa Hayes (alongside the Trans Chaco Highway), Dept. Boquerón, Paraguay”.
