Ophthalmotilapia ventralis (Boulenger, 1898)

Holotype: BMNH 1898.9.9.33-37 (79 mm SL). [Paralectotypes: (9) BMNH 1898.9.9.33-35 (3), 36-37 (now 0); ?MCZ 32325 (1); MNHN 1898-0698 [ex BMNH 1898.9.9.36-37] (1); MRAC [ex BMNH 1898.9.9.36-37] (1). Lectotype designated in Poll & Matthes, 1962 as BMNH 1898.9.9:33-37 (from Kinyamkolo)].

Type locality: Kinyamkolo, Lake Tanganyika.
