Type locality: LAOS, Luang Prabang Province, Phou Khoun, Tham Seua, N 19°20'35.8", E 102°26'19.1", 1226 m altitude, path to cave, shady slope.
Holotype: SMF, PJ 3364, SD 679, ♂, 18 February 2009, by night, by hand, P. Jäger leg.
Etymology: The Lao word “sŭung” means “high”, referring to the relatively high altitude of the type locality; term in apposition.
