- Type locality: SOUTH AFRICA, [Western Cape]: S. Cape, Mt. Helderfontein S, 1220 m, sifted, mountain/alpine marsh.
- Holotype: DNMNH # 1566, ♂, 10.iii.1979, Endrödy-Younga.
- Etymology: Named after the comparatively simple aedeagus (Lat. simplex = simple).
