- Type locality: SOUTH AFRICA, [Western Cape]: W. Cape, Dwarsberge, 34.02S–19.01E, sifted litter.
- Holotype: DNMNH # 253, ♂, 15.xi.1973, Endrödy-Younga.
- Etymology: Named after the long posterolateral impression on the pronotum (Lat. longesulcatus = having a long furrow or impression).
