- Type locality: SOUTH AFRICA, [Western Cape]: S. Cape, Mt. Helderfontein, 1150 m, 33.56S–20.52E, sifted, fynbos.
- Holotype: DNMNH # 1561, ♂, 8.iii.1979, Endrödy-Younga.
- Etymology: Named after the excavated apex of the median lobe (Lat. furcillipenis = having a forked aedeagus).
