- Type locality: SOUTH AFRICA, [Western Cape]: S. Cape, Mt. Outenikwa Pass, 33.53S–22.23E, indigenous forest litter.
- Holotype: DNMNH # 1502, ♂, 4.xi.1978, Endrödy-Younga.
- Etymology: Named after the lancet-like structure inside the median lobe (Lat. endohastatus = with an inner lancet).
