- Holotype: DHMECN 3563, adult ♂, collected by Mario Yánez-Muñoz, Paul Meza-Ramos, Marco Reyes-Puig, and Juan Pablo Reyez-Puig on 5 June 2006.
- Type locality: “Reserva Buenaventura (03°38′ S, 79°45′ W, 1200 m elevation) canton Piñas, Provincia de El Oro, República del Ecuador”.
