Nothobranchius annectens Watters, Wildekamp & Cooper, 1998

Holotype: MRAC 97-82-P-22. Paratypes MRAC 97-82-P-23-26 (4).

Type locality: 5.5 kilometers south of Kitonga, pool in a ditch on western side of the road from Rufiji River Ferry, in Rufiji River floodplain, Tanzania.

Only known from three restricted locations. Restricted distribution makes it more vulnerable to local habitat degradation. [IUCN, 2006]
