Neblinichthys peniculatus Armbruster & Taphorn, 2013

  • Holotype: MBUCV V-35680.
  • Paratypes: AMNH 255488 (1, 1), 91020 (0, 1); AUM 56753 (1, 0); AMNH 91021 (14 (1 male, 1 female, 1 juvenile, 11 fry)); MBUCV V-35681 (3).

Type locality: Venezuela, Bolivar, río Paragua drainage, río Carapo at first rapids along right bank, 5°41'51"N, 63°32'30"W [1].

Etymology: The specific epithet is an adjective from the Latin peniculus (= brush), in reference to the brushlike odontodes on the snout.
