Mystus zeylanicus Ng & Pethiyagoda, 2013

  • Holotype: USNM 317578.
  • Paratypes: CAS-SU 30150 (1), 68938 (1); USNM 410744 (18).

Type locality: Sri Lanka, Western Province, Matugama District, tributary to Bentota Ganga [= Bentara River] approximately 8 km N of Matugama on road to Kalutara.

Etymology: The specific name zeylanicus is based on a classical spelling of the island’s name [Zeylan, an early Dutch name for Sri Lanka], where it occurs, and is meaning "Sri Lankan".
