- Type locality: ECUADOR: Pastaza Puyo, nr Santa Clara, 950 m.
- Holotype: MCV ♀, 18-21.VII.2008, leg. W. Rossi & I. Tapia.
- Etymology: The species has name that means “Ecuadorian half” in reference to the colour of the antennae whose antennomeres brusquely pass from brown to yellow.
