Monotocheirodon drilos Menezes et al., 2013

  • Holotype: MUSM 41541.
  • Paratypes: ANSP 143790 (1), 143792 (6); MUSM 11082 (2); USNM 405296 (2).

Type locality: Sandia, Zona Reservada Tambopata-Candamo, stream Ebebahuaeji (empties into Río Candamo), 13°14’56.4”S, 70°00’34.5”W [1].

Etymology: The specific name drilos is from the Greek meaning penis. The word is used here in reference to the prominent male inseminating organ.
