Mimagoniates rheocharis Menezes & Weitzman, 1990

  • Holotype: MZUSO 40278.
  • Paratypes: MCP 10806 (1), 13613 (7), 13616-17 (3, 83); MZUSP 40279-81 (81, 29, 1); R. M. C. Castro coll. (2); USNM 279878 (3), 270879 (89, 3 c&s), 306339 (18).

Type locality: Near Praia Grande, Rio Faxinalzinho at Mãe dos Homens, Santa Catarina, Brazil, about 29°20'S, 14°40'W. .

Etymology: rheos (= current or stream); charis (= loveliness, grace or charming), referring to stream habitat and the “beauty of the fish itself”. (From The ETYFish project)
