  • Holotype: USNM 398705.
  • Paratypes: AUM 51062 (1, 223), 51063 (1, 176).

Type locality: USA, Alabama, Shelby Co., Shoal Creek, Hwy 199.

Etymology: This species is named for the Cahaba River, to which it is endemic.
