Holotype: BMNH 82.3.1.25, adult ♀, skin (in alcohol) and skull.
Type locality: “Ankáfana forest, Eastern Betsileo,” redefinied to Ankafina, Fianarantsoa, Fianarantsoa Province, 21°12’S 47°12’E, Madagascar by McPhee (1987: 5).
