Holotype: MCP 27796. Paratypes: MCP 17796 (1, c&s).
Type locality: Rio Jucuruçu basin, next to Itamaraju, 17°01'10"S, 39°34'57"N, Bahia State, Brazil.
Etymology: The name draco refers to the mythological creature dragon, in reference to the aspect of the head of the new species.
