Type locality: Sungai Marjina, 5° 30.745’S, 134° 37.250’E, tributary of Sungai Tasinwalas, Kola Island, Aru Islands, Maluku Province, Indonesia.

Etymology: The species is named kolaensis with reference to the Kola Island type locality.
