Maylandia pambazuko (Stauffer et al., 2013)

  • Holotype: PSU 4900.
  • Paratypes: PSU 4901 (19), 4902 (19), 4903 (18); AMNH 257793 (2).

Type locality: 11°49.552’S, 34°56.292’E [1], Londo Bay, Lake Malaŵi, Mozambique, Africa.

Etymology: The name pambazuko, from Swahili, means dawn or sunrise to note the orange/red dorsal fin of males, alluding to the orange/red sky of daybreak.
