- Holotype: KU 73489, adult ♂, collected by P.L. Clifton on 29 August 1962.
- Type locality: “Plumosas, 22 kilometers east of Matatán, elevation 770 meters, Sinaloa, México”.
- Paratypes (n=3): KU 73488 from “3 kilometers southeast Talpa, 1,570 meters, Jalisco”, and KU 73490-91, from type locality.
