- Holotype: FMNH 26576, adult ♂, skin and skull, collected by Colin C. Sanborn on 8 July 1926.
- Type locality: “Therezopolis, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Brazil”, corrected to “Therezopolis, Rio de Janeiro” by Tate (1933: 166).
