- Holotype: USNM 393535, adult ♀, skin and skull, collected by R.H. Pine on 5 July 1968.
- Type locality: “264 k N (by road) Xavantina (locality is at 12°51' S, 51°46' W), Serra do Roncador, Mato Grosso, Brazil, ca. 1750 ft”.
