Type species: Mahidolia normaniSmith & Koumans, 1932. Type by monotypy.

Type locality: Laem Sing District, Chanthaburi Province, eastern Thailand.

Etymology: Named in honor of Prince Mahidol Adulyadej, was the father of King Ananda Mahidol (Rama VIII) and King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) of Thailand.
