Lucigadus borealis Iwamoto & Okamoto, 2015

Type locality: Emperor Seamounts, Koko Guyot; 35°39′N, 171°01′E; 409 m depth.

Etymology: From the Latin borealis (= northern), in reference to the northern distribution of the species.
