- Type locality: : India, Kerala, Indira Gandhi National Park (Silent Valley National park), 22 km W of Mukkali (coordinates for Mukkali: 11° 03' 31.33" N, 76° 32' 25.12" E), 1100 m a.s.l.
- Etymology: The species is named after Dr. Robert W. Taylor for his significant contribution to the genus.
