- Holotype: AM R 173740, adult ♂, collected by J.J.L. Rowley, Hoang D.H., Le T.T.D., and Dau Q.V. on 12 July 2009.
- Type locality: “on a leaf at the edge of a 3 m wide, shallow, rocky stream in evergreen forest in Ngoc Linh Nature Reserve, Dak Glei District, Kon Tum Province, Vietnam (15.23587° N, 107.70982° E, 1316 m)”.
