Leporinus microphysus Birindelli & Britski (2013)

  • Holotype: MZUSP 111001.
  • Paratypes: ANSP 199207 (2); INPA 37892 (2); MZUSP 103487 (8), 97351 (8), 98274 (1), 101749 (1), 104503 (2).

Type locality: Brazil, Amapá, Laranja do Jari, Rio Iratapuru, tributary of Rio Jari, at Cachoeira São Raimundo, 0°33'59"S, 52°34'40"W [1].

Etymology: The specific name is a combination of the Greek mikro (= small), and physus (= bladder), in reference to the small gas bladder present in this species.
