Holotype: USNM 195853. Paratypes: FMNH 64503 (1), 64510 (3 of 4); UF 202302 [ex UMML 2302] (1); USNM 195852 (1).

Type locality: Atlantic Ocean, Northern South America, about 110 miles northeast of Paramaribo, 7°18'N, 54°08'W, Oregon station 2016, depth 50 fathoms.[1]
