- Type locality: NEPAL: Taplejung Distr., above Walungchung Gola, open Abies-Betula forest, 3400–3600 m.
- Holotype: SMNS, ♂, Expeditionen Jochen Martens, 21 May 1988 J. Martens & W. Schawaller.
- Etymology: The specific epithet (Latin, adjective: with two beards) alludes to the conspicuous clusters of dark setae on the male sternite VIII.
