Type locality: Roadbanks in humid montane forest along road between Newcastle [3800 ft alt.] and Hardwar Gap [4000 ft alt.], St. Andrew Parish, Jamaica

Holotype ♂: AMNH (8.IV.1988, matured 24.IV.1988; F. Coyle, R . Bennett & A. Robinson)
