Holotype: ZUEC 10796. Paratypes: ZUEC 10797 (3, 5); LBP 18842 (1, 1).

Type locality: Brazil, Bahia, Prazeres, Rio Preto, Rio São Francisco basin, 11°23’24.8”S 44°54’11.2”W, altitude 522 m.

Etymology: The species is named in honor and recognition to the first discoverer of the species, the environmentalist Mr. Amer Faour.
