Henochilus wheatlandii Garman, 1890

  • Holotype (unique): MCZ 21109.

Type locality: Santa Clara, Rio Mucuri, Bahia, Brazil.

Etymology: in honor of Henry Wheatland (1812-1893), President, Essex Institute (Salem, Mass., USA, which published the description), for his “friendly interest and sympathy in favor of ichthyology and ichthyologists” (From The ETYFish Project).
