Type locality: Indonesia, South Kalimantan, Batulicin basin; stream at Simpang Alok, along road from Batulicin [1] to Mantewe, Desa Gunung Raya (84 m asl).
Etymology: The specific name refers to the minute oily seeds of the Sesamum plant (Pedaliaceae); in allusion to the small black spots/dashes on the dorsal fin with which resemble black sesame seeds.
