Hemigrammocapoeta Pellegrin, 1927

Etymology: From hemi- (= partial), and gramma (= line), referring to incomplete lateral line; capoeta, derived from kapwaeti, Armenian and Georgian name for female Capoeta capoeta packed with eggs, probably reflecting Pellegrin’s observation of a 44 mm female Hemigrammocapoeta culiciphaga filled with 0.5-0.75 mm eggs.
