- Holotype: BMNH 2008.714, male collected in May 2011 by S. Carranza, E. Gómez-Díaz and F. Amat (MorphoBank M99903–M99917).
- Type locality: Wadi Bani Khalid, 647 m, Eastern Hajar (North Oman), 22.61609’N 59.09371.
- Etymology: The name is an adjective that refers to the mountain range where the species is found, the Hajar Mountains.
