Holotype: BPBM 21241. [Paratypes: ANSP 144093 (1); BMNH 1980.5.20.4 (1); BPBM 20976-77 (2, 3), 21250 (4), 21314 (1), 22957 (3); CAS 46031 (1); MNHN 1980-1305 (1); SAIAB [formerly RUSI] 444 (1); USNM 221541 (1)].

Type locality: About 4 miles east of Muharrak Island, Bahrain, Persian Gulf, depth 12 meters.
