- Holotype: ZMA 7172a, adult ♂, collected by Rose M.A. Blommers-Schlösser and her husband on 25 August 1971.
- Type locality: “Perinet ('highroad R. N. 2' at km 142), alt. 900-1100 m”, 20 km south of Moramanga, Madagascar.
