Type locality: Bay of Salamansa, São Vicente island, Republic of Cabo Verde, 0.6 m depth.
Etymology: The epithet salamansa refers to the village of Salamansa, on the north of the island of São Vicente, Republic of Cabo Verde, which marks the location where the only two known specimens were collected.
