Holotype: MUMF 14001. Paratypes: MUMF 14002-14010 (9), MUMF 14006 dissected for osteology.

Type locality: India, Mizoram, Lawntlai District, Koladyne River at Kolchaw, 22°23'N, 92°57'E.[1]

Etymology: From the Latin verrucosus meaning full of warts in reference to the dense tuberculations on the body.
