Geophagus crocatus Hauser & López-Fernández, 2013

  • Holotype: UG/CSBD 1656 (Ex ROM 87106).
  • Paratypes: ROM.

Type locality: Guyana, East Berbice, Berbice River, about 14 air km upstream of Kwakwani at Mappa Lagoon camp, 5.17456°N, 58.16336°W [1].

Etymology: The specific name is from the Latin adjective crocatus (= saffron yellow), in reference to the yellow operculum on live specimens.
