- Holotype: ZSM, ♂, 1900m, 23.xi.1994, Balke & Kinibel (PNG 108).
- Type locality: Papua New Guinea: Eastern Highlands Province, Akameku-Brahmin, Bismarck Range, 05°54.28'S, 145°22.27'E.
- Etymology: The species is named after the village Bundi where it was discovered. The name is an adjective in the nominative singular.
