- Type locality: Indonesia, Papua, Arfak Mts., Anggi - Membey, 1700-2300 m.
- Holotype: ZSM, ♂, 30.VIII-1.IX.1991, leg. A.Riedel.
- Etymology: This epithet is based on the combination of the Greek prefix para- (next to; near by) and of E. convexus, presumably its sister species that possesses the same characteristic gestalt.
