Type locality: Indonesia, Papua, Arfak-Mts., Anggi, Gn. Kobrey, 2000-2300 m.
Holotype: ZSM, ♂, 28.VIII.1991, leg. A.Riedel.
Etymology: This epithet is based on the Latin adjective convexus (convex) and refers to the strongly curved dorsal elytral outline of this species.
