Euops gressitti Riedel, 1999: 89.
Type locality: Papua New Guinea, Southern Highlands Prov., Mt. Giluwe, 2500 m.
Holotype: BPBM, ♂, 06.VI.1963, leg. J.Sedlacek.
Etymology: This species is named in honor of the late Dr J.L. Gressitt in recognition of his enormous contribution to the entomology of New Guinea and the Pacific Islands. He had not only collected many specimens used in this study, but also initiated other entomologists´ work in this region.
