Type locality: USA, Wyoming, Albany Co., ca. 1,6 km SE of Laramie, 41º17.886'N, 105º31.519'W, 2285 m.

Etymology

The specific epithet aurilineana is derived from a combination of the Latin words for gold and line, reflecting the maculation of this moth.
