Holotype: UAIC 10707.02. Paratypes. UAIC 10707.01 (14), 9863.26 (19); USNM 328260 (4); UT 91.4452 (4); SIUC 22877 (4); UMMZ 175059 (10); CU 37282 (12); INHS 87340 (4).

Type locality: Turnbull Creek 0.8 km W Kingston Springs on co. rd., Cheatham County, Tennessee.[1]

Etymology: The species epithet honors Al Gore, the 45th Vice President of the United States of America, serving with President Bill Clinton, and his environmental vision, commitment, and accomplishments throughout decades of public service and his role in educating the public and raising awareness on the issue of global climate change.
