Holotype: USNM 533712, adult male, collected by George R. Zug and Patricia B. Zug, 19 March 1999.

Type locality: Cook Islands, Rarotonga, ca. 7 km. [by road] WSW of Avarua [estim. 21°12’30”S 159°46’32”W].
