- Holotype: MNHN 1966.2220, adult ♂, skin and skull, collected by J.M. Klein on 1 July 1964.
- Type locality: “Madagascar, Toliara Province, Antsingy Forest, near Bekopaka, about 19°07.5′S, 44°49.0′E”.
